FOLKESTONE captain Roland Edge completed the scoring as the visitors inflicted Harlow’s heaviest home league defeat since their move to Barrows Farm last year.
The skipper emerged from amongst a static Harlow back line to easily nod home Folkestone’s third goal and put the Hawks out of their misery after a lethargic performance on Saturday afternoon.
Missing James Hasell and Ryan Kirby (injuries), as well as Mark Taylor (unavailable), the home side began slowly.
A mistake by goalkeeper Ian Joyce saw the ball roll dangerously loose in the area five minutes in, but the stand-in stopper’s blushes were spared as James Corbett’s resulting shot was blocked.
Leigh Bremner headed Corbett’s corner kick over the bar three minutes later, before putting his side ahead on 18 minutes.
Bremner stole in front of Kenny Davis to clip Kevin Watson’s low cross across the face of goal and into the far bottom corner, past the stranded Joyce.
A quick ball in from Kenny Davis outfoxed the Folkestone defence at the other end, but with nobody in the box to meet it, the hosts’ first glimpse at goal went begging.
Clark Akers got goal side of Frankie Chappell on 28 minutes after latching on to Davis’ ball in, but the young utility player blazed wide from close range.
The visitors doubled their advantage five minutes before the interval when Corbett found Watson in acres of space, the winger obliging with a thunderous strike high into the net, leaving Joyce with no chance.
Bremner forced a sharp save from Joyce on 48 minutes, the keeper also bracing himself to deny Damian Abel on 57 minutes.
Tobi Ositola replaced Danny Hill just prior to the hour mark, and the striker had an immediate impact.
His low drive from just inside the box took a slight deflection off Michael Everitt, forcing Chappell to clear off the line.
Spurred into life, Harlow went close through James Bunn, before Oshitola dragged his effort wide from the rebound.
Jordan Fowler later fired wide on 76 minutes after the lively Oshitola laid off an inviting ball for him in the midfield.
Leon Lalite upended Abel on the right wing, earning himself a booking, but the misery continued as Folkestone scored from the resulting free kick.
Substitute Ryan Briggs’ in-swinging ball found skipper Roland Edge, who comfortably nodded home unchallenged from six yards out with nine minutes to go.
Keeper Joyce had to be on his toes to stop a rapidly rising shot from Abel on 83 minutes from causing further damage.Harlow Tn: Ian Joyce, Kenny Davis, Kevin Warren (sub: Tom McGowen, 87), Beckett Hollenbach, Lee Miles, Danny Chapman (sub: Shaun Gliddon, 84), Leon Lalite, Danny Hill (sub: Tobi Oshitola, 59), James Bunn, Jordan Fowler, Clark Akers.
